and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under its ‘Centre For Open
Learning (CFOL)’ announces “Moving images: Preservation, Archiving, Digitisation
and Restoration”, from 05-15 October 2026 in FTII Pune.
Following
are the details in this regard;
(1) Name
of the Course: Moving images: Preservation, Archiving,
Digitisation and Restoration
(2) Dates:
05-15 October 2026 (9 days, Saturday and Sunday
will be holidays)
(3) Timings:
10 am to 5 pm (followed by film screenings)
(4) Max. no. of seats: 25 (Course may not be conducted if min. strength
of 15 is not reached)
(5) Age: 15
years & above as on 01st October 2026
(6) Educational
Qualification: HSC (12th
pass).
(7) Nationality: Indian
(8) Medium of Instructions:
English & Hindi
(9) Venue: FTII, Pune and NFDC-NFAI,
Pune
(10) Per
Participant Course fee: Rs 12,000/-
Course fee is
excluding lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.
Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable,
non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances Course fee of
all the non – selected participants will be returned within 21 working days of
the course commencement.
However, due to any
reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee
will be refunded.

(12) Due
date & time to submit online application: 21st September, 2026, 6 pm
IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
(13) Selection
Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis. List of selected
participants will be published on our website and selection emails will also be
sent to all the selected participants.
(14) Certificates: All participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

(16) Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website and selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email.
(17) Limited Hostel accommodation for outstation participants: Rs 3,600/- (Rs. 300/- per day for 12 days) on triple sharing basis at Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy campus in Kothrud.
Hostel Accommodation Fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/ coffee, snacks etc. Hostel accommodation fee payment details will be shared separately with the participants who are selected & who need said accommodation, on First come first served basis
(18) Course Director: Ms Aprana Subramanian

Aparna Subramanian is a Fulbright Fellow and alumnus of NYU’s Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program. She has over a decade of experience in audiovisual and film archiving across India, Southeast Asia, and the United States. She is serving on the Board of Directors (2024-2026) at the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA), based in Los Angeles. She currently works as Film Research Officer at the Film and Television Institute of India.

by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or print screen (if using
computer)
(iii)
by simply taking a photograph from mobile
6. No
document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be
attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is
sufficient.
7. Terms & conditions: By agreeing to the terms & conditions in the application form, participants are confirming that they have read & understood the website advt. They are eligible to apply and fulfil all the requirements as stated in the advt. Further, participants agree that decision of FTII Director regarding admission to the course and its conduction in all respect will be final.

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII),
in collaboration with the National Film Archive of India (NFDC–NFAI), presents
a nine-day intensive professional training programme on the preservation,
archiving, digitization and restoration of moving images.
Designed for archivists, museum professionals, film
students, researchers, librarians, conservators and audiovisual heritage
practitioners, the programme combines academic lectures, practical laboratory
sessions, institutional visits and film screenings. Participants will work
directly with film materials and archival equipment while interacting with
leading experts from India's foremost preservation institutions.
