Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune has rolled out two short courses in the national capital New Delhi ; a 20-day Course in FILM CRITICISM AND THE ART OF REVIEW and a 10-day Course in SMARTPHONE FILM MAKING.Both Courses are being conducted by FTII in association with Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC),Delhi.
The Courses were inaugurated jointly by Manish Desai,ADG,IIMC and Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII Pune in the presence of Mamta Varma, Director, IIMC and Course Directors Rajula Shah (FTII,Film Direction, 2000) and Ajmal Jami (AJKMCRC,1985).
The 27 participants, including 8 women, in the age range 18-55 attending these courses are from 11 states and 17 cities....

10) Manipur (Imphal)
11) Uttar Pradesh (Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Noida).
This is the first time that FTII is conducting a Course in FILM CRITICISM AND THE ART OF REVIEW anywhere.This course meets a long-standing demand of cinema critics, film reviewers, film bloggers, research scholars and film academics.
The objective of the SMARTPHONE FILM MAKING course is to introduce the pervasive instrument as a powerful film making device . The course seeks to orient participants towards a filmic way of seeing,with the basic capacity to create their versions of thoughts, observations,stories into small films using the smartphone.
The Courses are being conducted under FTII's countrywide film education outreach initiative SKIFT (Skilling India in Film and Television) under which 147 short-term courses have been held in 38 cities across the country covering over 6090 learners over the past 24 months.
