FILM EDITOR SUCHITRA SATHE INAUGURATES WOMEN'S DAY "PADAARPAN" ; HER ACCLAIMED WORK 'RINGAN' SCREENED.
PADAARPAN : MOMENTOUS MILESTONES, an outreach initiative by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), that opens up the Institute's cinematic treasures to the general public, was held in FTII campus today.
The public screenings were inaugurated by Suchitra Sathe (FTII,Film Editing,2006) who is also Head of Dept, TV Editing at FTII.
PADAARPAN opened with the screening of HAZY GREY SKIES (2006, Director: Priya Belliappa), student film of Suchitra Sathe as Editor. The film has been screened at Interfilm Berlin, River2River Florence Indian Festival and IFFI 2012.
An engaging Q&A by a packed house with Suchitra was followed by the screening of National Award winning (2015) film RINGAN (Marathi,Dir: Makarand Mane) edited by her.
Her other notable works include GABRICHA PAUS, CRD, GULABJAM and DHAPPA.
The first edition of PADAARPAN : MOMENTOUS MILESTONES was rolled out in August 2017 by Sh Shatrughan Sinha, eminent actor, Lok Sabha MP and FTII alumnus. Subsequent episodes of PADAARPAN saw screenings of student films of actors Rakesh Bedi, Rameshwari, Kanwaljeet Singh, cinematographer Nadeem Khan,Sound Recordist Subhash Sahoo, Production Designer Laxmi Keluskar and others.
