FTII ACTING STUDENT AKSHAY KOWE BAGS RAMAYANA CHARITRA SONAKSHI SINHA SCHOLARSHIP INSTITUTED BY SHATRUGHAN SINHA.
 
Akshay Devanand Kowe, a final year student of Screen Acting  (2017 Batch) at Film and Television Institute of India  (FTII) Pune has been awarded the prestigious RAMAYANA CHARITRA SONAKSHI SINHA Scholarship for 2018.
 
A letter from  the office of  Shatrughan Sinha announcing the release of scholarship award of Rs 50,000/-  was presented to Akshay Kowe by Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII in the presence of Siddharth Shasta, Head, Dept of Screen Acting, FTII.
 
"Instituted in 2016,the RAMAYANA CHARITRA SONAKSHI SINHA SCHOLARSHIP is normally awarded to a meritorious female student of Screen Acting  securing top position,on the basis of 1st year results, among the SC/ST/OBC category. However when there is no SC/ST/OBC category female student available for the scholarship, then it is presented to a meritorious male student belonging to the above categories. What makes this scholarship special is that it is sponsored by noted actor Shatrughan Sinha who is an FTII  alumnus", said Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII while congratulating Akshay Kowe.
 
Hailing from Yavatmal, Maharashtra, Akshay holds a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University and also took a Master's degree in Political Science  before joining FTII in  August 2017.
