FTII COURSE IN STILL PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ARMY PERSONNEL BEGINS IN HAIDERBEG SECTOR, KASHMIR
A Foundation Course in Still Photography, exclusively for Army personnel,by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune began at Haiderbeg Sector in Kashmir Valley. The course, from 4-24 January, will equip the participants with nuances of photography, development of photographs, outdoor photography and related skills.
Inaugurating the Course at Haiderbeg Sector in Kashmir Valley, Brigadier T M Pattanaik, Commander, Kilo Force under the aegis of 15 Corps, thanked FTII for sending instructors all the way from Pune to teach Army personnel and upgrade their skills.
Bharat Kanhere, Course Director, is one of India's leading photography teachers. He has worked with FTII for 28 years in the Department of Cinematography as academic staff member of still photography and basic cinematography. He assisted veteran cinematographer Radhu Karmakar in Raj Kapoor's SATYAM SHIVAM SUNDARAM before plunging into industrial, food and commercial photography. He is also a visiting faculty at several creative arts Institutes.
The Course is being conducted under FTII's countrywide film education outreach initiative SKIFT (Skilling India in Film and Television) under which nearly 120 short courses have already been conducted in over 25 cities and towns across the country in the last 18 months, covering more than 5000 learners.
