Basic Course in Smartphone Film Making 21^st to 26^th Oct. 2024

Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada (SRTM) University, Nanded in association with Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) as Academic Partner, announces “Basic Course in Smartphone Film Making’ to be conducted on SRTM University campus, Nanded.

Following are the details in this regard;

1. Name of the Course: Basic Course in Smartphone Film Making
2. Dates: 21 – 26 October 2024
3. Timings: 10 am to 6 pm (01.30 pm to 02 pm will be lunch break)
4. Maximum no. of participants: 40 (Course will be conducted only if min. strength of 32 is reached)
5. Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis.
6. Age: 18 years completed as on 01^st October 2024.
7. Educational Qualification: HSC (12^th pass). In exception cases, 10^th pass may be considered
8. Nationality: Indian except for those foreign students who are presently students of SRTM University/ affiliated colleges of the University
9. Medium of Instructions: English and Hindi.
10. Venue: School of Media Studies, SRTM University Campus, Nanded
11. Per Participant Course fee: Rs 5,000/-

Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be refunded within 21 working days of the course commencement. Course fee does not include breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.

12. Application form and mode of payment: On FTII’s application portal through SBI Collect
13. Due date & time: 01.10.2024, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
14. Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on SRTM University website. Selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email id.
15. Hostel: Limited accommodation (on first come first served basis) on SRTM University campus, Nanded, on twin sharing basis is available for the participants on additional lumpsum payment of Rs 2,100/-. This additional payment is to be made in advance in cash on 20^th Oct. 2024 directly to the University. Interested participants need to intimate the accommodation requirement in the application form without which the same will not be considered. The accommodation will be available from 20^th to 27^th Oct. 2024. As regards to the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.), the same may be available in the University canteen/ mess on additional payment of approximately Rs 100/- per meal.

Participants need to assure general decency, decorum etc on the University campus and room allotment may be cancelled if same is not followed. All rights in this regard are reserved with the University management.

16. Certificates:  Participants would be given on successful completion of the course which will carry logo of SRTM University and FTII and will be jointly signed by the University Authority and FTII Director. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

18. Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on SRTM University website and selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email.
19. Participants need to assure general decency, decorum etc. on the University campus. Failing to do so will lead to cancellation of admission without refunding course fee apart from taking internal disciplinary action and dealing the matter as per law of the land. All rights in this regard are reserved with the SRTM University.

20. Course Director: Mr. Ritesh Taksande

Ritesh Taksande is working in the media industry for the past 19 years as Director, Cinematographer, Film-Maker and Media Educator. He has worked on many National and International Film Projects including the famous Productions like Disney, Reliance - Big Animation,

He is Director at My first film organization,

An Award winning film maker and mentor for many media schools, universities, and also mentors scientific and documentary films making courses and a jury member for renowned film festivals.

At present, he is working as Senior Manager, Film Production at National Film Development Corporation, Mumbai. 

21. How to apply:

(i) Click open the link - https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm OR visit www.onlinesbi.com and further click on “SB Collect” which is at the top left, vertically 06^th from left to right. In the Search box, search/ Find FTII Fees Account and click submit.

(ii) In the payment category select “O3 Basic Course in Smartphone Film Making Offline”.

(iii) Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.

(iv) Make necessary payment of Rs 5,000/- as the case may be.

(v) Once payment is done, please note "SBcollect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference. 

(vi) Digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;

(a) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it

(b) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or printscreen (if using computer)

(c) by simply taking a photograph from mobile

(vii) No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.

(ix)Terms & conditions: By agreeing to the terms & conditions in the application form, participants are confirming that they have read & understood the website advt. They are eligible to apply and fulfill all the requirements as stated in the advt. Also, it is presumed that participants will be staying and or attending the course at their own risk & cost and will not be held responsible for anything or matter of what-so-ever nature. Further, participants agree that decision of SRTM University regarding admission to the course and its conduction in all respect will be final.

21. Course Contents:

The Smartphone Filmmaking course provides a comprehensive guide to creating high-quality short films using your smartphone. It covers essential topics such as Script Writing, storyboarding, shot composition, lighting, and audio recording, Editing in smartphone apps all tailored to the capabilities of mobile devices. Partipants learn to leverage the various features and apps available on their smartphones to enhance their filmmaking process. The course includes practical exercises, allowing participants to develop their skills through hands-on projects and receive feedback on their work. By the end, participants will produce compelling and professional-looking short films with minimal equipment and budget.

The course will conclude with the screening of the films made by participants and valedictory session.
