Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ announces “AVID Powered Music Production Bootcamp” from 06 February to 09 March 2026 at Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy, Rambaug Colony, Near Doordarshan Kendra, Kothrud, Pune .
Following are the details in this regard;
- Name of the Course: AVID Powered Music Production Bootcamp
- Dates: 06 February to 09 March 2026 (Monday to Friday)
- Timings: 10 am to 1 pm
- Max. no. of seats: 20 (Course may not be conducted if min. strength of 15 is not reached)
- Age: 18 years & above as on 01st February 2026
- Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered
- Nationality: Indian
- Medium of Instructions: English & Hindi
- Venue: Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy, Rambaug Colony, Near Doordarshan Kendra, , Kothrud, Pune
- Per Participant Course fee: Rs 36,000/-
Course fee is excluding lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.
Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be returned within 21 working days of the course commencement.
However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.
- Mode of payment: Online through SBI Collect (along with application form).
- Due date & time to submit online application: 19th January, 2026, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
- Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis. List of selected participants will be published on our website and selection emails will also be sent to all the selected participants.
- Certificates: All participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

- Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website and selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email.
- Limited Hostel accommodation for outstation participants: Rs 8,100/- (Rs. 300/- per day for 27 days) on triple sharing basis at Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy campus in Kothrud.
Hostel Accommodation Fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/ coffee, snacks etc. Hostel accommodation fee payment details will be shared separately with the participants who are selected & who need said accommodation, on First come first served basis.

4. Once payment is done, please note "SBI collect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference.
5. If possible, digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;
(i) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it
(ii) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or print screen (if using computer)
(iii) by simply taking a photograph from mobile
6. No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.

(20) Course Contents
Introduction:
A one ‑ month Pro Tools program for beginners focusing completing song projects, moving from setup and recording to editing, MIDI, and a basic mix and export. It covers all relevant concepts of studio environment, recording equipment, digital signal flow, music theory and songwriting, with plenty of hands-on project work. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises using the latest equipment, hardware, and software to give industry-ready insights and tools for people looking to enter the ever-growing music world.
Course Objectives:
- Introduce students to the fundamentals of sound engineering and digital audio production using Avid Pro Tools
- Build hands-on proficiency in recording, editing, mixing, and mastering within the Pro Tools environment
- Teach proper session management, workflow organization, and file structures aligned with industry standards
- Develop critical listening and foster creativity in music composition and arrangement
- Encourage creative experimentation with plugins, effects, and virtual instruments in Pro Tools
Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Show proficiency in navigating Pro Tools’ interface, tools, and shortcuts for efficient production
- Select and use appropriate recording equipment for various scenarios, and record live vocals / instruments, edit takes, and use elastic audio and MIDI features effectively
- Complete at least one fully mixed and mastered projects that demonstrate their creative and technical growth
- Gain confidence working in both home and professional studio environments
Weekly Module Outline
Week 1 – Getting started and basics
Focus: Understanding DAWs, Pro Tools interface, basic audio recording, and simple song structure.
Learning Goal: Comfortably navigate Pro Tools, record audio, and create an 8‑bar loop.
- Intro to music production & DAWs
- Roles in production (artist, producer, engineer), overview of the month project
- Sessions, tracks, and signal flow
- Audio interface basics, input/output setup, sample rate, buffer size.
- First recordings – voice and simple instruments
- Microphone types and placement basics; gain staging and avoiding clipping.
- Basic editing: selecting, trimming, splitting, moving clips on the grid.
- Understanding rhythm and building a beat
- Very basic rhythm concepts for: tempo, bars, beats, metronome, grid.
- Mini project – 8‑bar loop
Week 2 – MIDI, virtual instruments, and arrangement
Focus: Simple music theory for producers, using MIDI and software instruments, and expanding from loop to full song structure.
Learning Goal: Use MIDI and basic theory to build a full song arrangement.

Week 3 – Editing, effects, and basic mixing
Focus: Cleaning up the session, basic audio editing tools, and core mixing concepts (balance, EQ, compression, reverb).
Learning Goal: Apply core mixing tools (levels, panning, EQ, simple compression, reverb).
