Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ announces course in “Basic Course in Screen Acting” from 03-07 November 2025 at Triveni Kala Sangam Delhi.
Following are the details in this regard;
- Name of the Course: Basic Course in Screen Acting
- Dates: 03-07 November 2025 (05 days)
- Timings: 10 am to 5 pm (1 to 2 pm will be lunch break)
- Max. no. of participants: 24 (Course will be conducted only if min. strength of 20 participants is reached)
- Age: 18 years & above as on 1st November 2025 (participants born on or before 31st October 2007)
- Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered
- Nationality: Indian
- Medium of Instructions: English & Hindi
- Venue: Triveni Auditorium, Triveni Kala Sangam, 205, Tansen Marg, Todermal Road Area, Mandi House, Delhi, 110001
- Per Participant Course fee: Rs 7,000/-
Course fee is excluding lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.
Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be returned within 21 working days of the course commencement.
However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.
- Mode of payment: Online through SBI Collect (along with application form).
- Due date & time to submit online application: 21 October, 2025, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
- Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis. List of selected participants will be published on our website and selection emails will also be sent to all the selected participants.
(14) Certificates: All participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

(16) Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website and selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email.

(18) Course Director: Shri Ankush Verma
Ankush Verma is an FTII alumnus, actor, writer, director, academician, and festival director with extensive experience in theatre, film, and teaching. He has acted in Kathmandu Connection 2 (Sony Liv), a viral AstroTalk campaign, and several short films including Lady Bird (Best Short Film – Manav Rachna Film Festival) and Main Shaheed Aur Shahjahanpur (Best Documentary). His stage work spans 30+ productions such as Hamlet and Ashad Ka Ek Din, along with Theatre-in-Education initiatives.
He has conducted over 120 workshops nationwide, served as Senior Acting Faculty at leading institutes, and was Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University. As a visiting faculty, he has taught at Whistling Woods, Symbiosis, Ramanaidu Film School, Barry John Studio, Bennett University, and Oxford Film School (Nepal). Many of his students now work in films, OTT, and television.
Awarded Best Actor at the Bangalore Film Festival of India, Ankush is also a festival director, having organized the Rastriya Film Festival in collaboration with Film Bandhu. He hold Diploma in Screen Acting from FTII, Pune. A member of SWA and CINTAA, he combines creativity with pedagogy, corporate training, and innovation in AI-driven filmmaking.
(19) How to apply:
1. Click open the link - https://onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm OR visit www.onlinesbi.com and further click on “SB Collect” which is at the top left, vertically 06th from left to right.
. In the Search box, search/Find FTII Fees Account and click submit.
2. In the payment category select “O2 Basic Course in Screen Acting in Delhi”.
3. Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.
4. Make necessary payment of Rs 7,000/-
5. Once payment is done, please note "SBI collect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference.
6. If possible, digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;
(i) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it
(ii) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or print screen (if using computer)
(iii) by simply taking a photograph from mobile
7. No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.
8. Terms & conditions: By agreeing to the terms & conditions in the application form, participants are confirming that they have read & understood the website advt. They are eligible to apply and fulfil all the requirements as stated in the advt. Further, participants agree that decision of FTII Director regarding admission to the STTP and its conduction in all respect will be final.
Course Contents
The five-day acting workshop, designed for beginners, runs daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break. Each day follows a structured progression to build skills step by step.
• Day 1 introduces participants to the basics of acting, confidence building, body language, and improvisation.
• Day 2 focuses on emotions, expressions, and working with the camera (using Smartphone), including playback and feedback.
• Day 3 develops voice, dialogue delivery, and listening skills through paired practice and on- camera exercises (using Smartphone).
• Day 4 emphasizes character development and scene work, guiding participants through rehearsals and performance polish.
• Day 5 culminates in shooting final scenes (using Smartphone camera), followed by playback, group reflection, certification, and closing.
