Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ announces “Basic Course in Screen Acting” from 03rd to 14th Aug. 2025 in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
Following are the details in this regard:
- Name of the Course: Basic Course in Screen Acting
- Dates: 03rd to 14th Aug. 2025 (12 days including Saturday & Sunday)
- Timings: 09.30 am to 01.30 pm
- Maximum no. of participants: 24 (Course may not be conducted if minimum strength of 20 participants is not reached)
- Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis.
- Age: 18 years & above as on 01st August 2025 (participants born on or before 31st July 2007)
- Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered
- Nationality: Indian
- Medium of Instructions: Hindi
- Venue: EIAME Institution, Varun Vihar Colony, 45, Sonkh Road, Surya Nagar, Mathura
- Per Participant Course fee: Rs 9,000/-
Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be refunded within 21 working days of the course commencement.
However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.
Course fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.

- Due date & time: 20 July 2025, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
- Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website. Selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email id.
- Certificates: Participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

Course Director: Rishpal Singh Vikal
Rishpal Singh Vikalhas over 45 years experience in designing, directing, staging Plays.
Conduct Acting Workshop for Virat Acting Lab, a hardcore acting & personality development workshop for grooming the participants from the scratch.
He was felicitated for the contribution to Theatre by Shri. P.C. Sethi, Home Minister, Govt. Of India (1980-81).
He has written, produced and directed three feature hindi films “Poster”, “Kokh" and ”Dhadhak"
His Hindi Film “Kokh” was shown in many international film festivals. “Kokh” was the Curtain Raiser Film in Penang International Film Festival, Malaysia in 1977 & was nominated for the Best Actress.
He has written, directed and produced many ad films, jingles, short films and TV serials.

3. Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.
4. Make necessary payment of Rs 9,000/-.
5. Once payment is done, please note "SBcollect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference.
6. If possible, digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;
(i) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it
(ii) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or printscreen (if using computer)
(iii) by simply taking a photograph from mobile
7. No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.

1. Open-up Exercises Liberation from inhibitions and creation of a psychological ground for expression.
2. Brief Introduction to Acting (A) Traditional Methods (B) Modern Methods (C) Introduction to the concept of method-free expression.
Development of an exploratory approach toward the artistic form of acting. A subtle introduction to acting perspectives of Realism, Hyper-realism, and Abstraction.
3. Scientific understanding of acting in relation to memory, imagination, and other mental faculties.
4. Observation and Improvisation.
5. Introduction to the Four-Dimensional Concentration Theory of Acting (Collectiveness of Time, Space, Situation, and Character).
6. Practice of Vocal and Physical Expressions, including Mime, Singing, and Psycho-Physical Exercises.
7. Enhancement of Stamina, Coordination, Trust, and Concentration through Theatre Games.
