Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ announces “Basic Course on Writing for Short Film Fiction” from 17-21 February 2025 at Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy, Rambaug Colony, Near Doordarshan Kendra, Kothrud, Pune.

Following are the details in this regard;

1. Name of the Course: Basic Course on Writing for Short Film Fiction
2. Dates: 17-21 February 2025
3. Timings: 10 am to 5 pm (1 pm to 2 pm will be lunch break)
4. Maximum no. of participants: 24 (Course will be conducted only if minimum strength of 20 is reached)
5. Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis.
6. Age: 18 years & above as on 01^st February 2025 (participants born on or before 31 Jan. 2007)
7. Educational Qualification: HSC (12^th pass). In exceptional cases, 10^th pass may be considered
8. Nationality: Indian
9. Medium of Instructions: English and Hindi.
10. Venue: Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy, Rambaug Colony, Near Doordarshan Kendra, Kothrud, Pune.
11. Per Participant Course fee: Rs 9,000/-

Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be refunded within 21 working days of the course commencement.

However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.

Course fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.

13. Due date & time: 10 February 2025, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
14. Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website. Selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email id.
15. Certificates: Participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

17. Limited Hostel accommodation for outstation participants: Rs 1,800/- (Rs. 300/- per day for 14 days) on triple sharing basis on our extended campus in Kothrud (5 Kms from main campus). Participants need to make to & fro self transport arrangements at their own cost.

Hostel Accommodation Fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/ coffee, snacks etc. Hostel accommodation fee payment details will be shared separately with the participants who are selected & who need said accommodation, on First come first served basis.

18. Course Director: Dr. Milind Damle 

Dr. Milind Damle, Associate Professor, FTII, Pune. He is alumnus of FTII from 2004 batch and is having more than 20 years experience in the field of Radio, Cinema & Television. He is a film educator and is full time associated with FTII since 2012. Professionally he edited feature films and also directed & produced no. of short films.  His written and produced short films have been a part of many  national and international film festivals and have won awards. His doctoral research is based on the song picturization techniques in films directed by Vijay Anand.

. In the Search box, search/Find FTII Fees Account and click submit.

2. In the payment category select “C1 Basic Course on Writing for Short Film Fiction”.

3. Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.

4. Make necessary payment of Rs 9,000/-.

5. Once payment is done, please note "SBcollect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference. 

6. If possible, digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;

(i) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it

(ii) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or printscreen (if using computer)

(iii) by simply taking a photograph from mobile

7. No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.
