Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ initiative in association with Mewar University announces “Foundation Course in Screen Acting“ from 18 August – 11 October 2025 on Mewar University Campus, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
Following are the details in this regard;
- Name of the Course: Foundation Course in Screen Acting
- Dates: 18 August – 11 October 2025 (Excluding 2nd October and all Sundays except 5th October 2025)
- Timings: 10 am to 6 pm (On few days classes may extend
- Maximum no. of participants: 24 (Course may not be conducted if min. strength of 20 is reached)
- Selection Criteria: On First – Come – First – Served Basis.
- Age: 18 years & above as on 01st August 2025
- Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered
- Nationality: Indian
- Medium of Instructions: English and Hindi.
- Venue: Maharana Pratap Hall, Mewar University Campus, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan
- Per Participant Course fee: Rs 55,000/-
Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be refunded within 21 working days of the course commencement.
However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.
Course fee is excluding breakfast, lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.

- Due date & time: 31st July 2025, 6 pm IST. Application submitted after due date & time will not be considered.
- Communication with participants: All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website. Selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email id.
- Certificates: Participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.

- Limited Hostel accommodation for outstation participants: Rs.150/- per day on triple sharing basis at Mewar University campus. Participants may also avail meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner) facility in the University mess on additional payment of Rs 150/- per day. Hostel charges and mess charges are to be paid directly to the Mewar University and payment details will be shared separately with the participants who are selected & who need said accommodation, on First come first served basis.
- Course Director: Mr. Megh Varn Pant
Mr. Megh Pant is an Actor, Acting coach and has a teaching experience of 18 years, a graduate from the first screen acting batch of the new era in 2004 – 2006. He wrote a research paper “Acting – in the cinematic environment” and has been continuously reaching and experimenting with the Sanford Meisner Acting Technique adapting it to the practical conditions of the Indian Audio Visual diaspora.
Currently, heading the Academic Research of Dramalay School of Acting and Theatre. He has designed short term and long term courses for many Institutions. A practitioner of the Sanford Meisner Technique, he has performed in over 20 films and numerous commercials (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3078280/).
He is also a regular trainer and Acting Coach for advertisement produced by Equinox Films and has prepared Actors for roles on specific Scripts as part of the preparatory workshop. Prior to Dramalay he was the Director, Academic Coordination, at Indian Television Academy School of Performing Arts.
He has been closely associated with his Alma Mater as visiting faculty at the Screen Acting Department of FTII. Also, FTII engaged him as Course Director wherein he conducted two Foundation Courses in Screen Acting, each of 03 months duration and two Basic Courses in Screen Acting, each of 10 days duration. Further, he also conducted 10 days Screen Acting course for Children in summer break. He also has a Degree of Mechanical Engineering from Panjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

. In the Search box, search/Find FTII Fees Account and click submit.
2. In the payment category select “Foundation Course in Screen Acting at Mewar Uni.”.
3. Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.
4. Make necessary payment of Rs 55,000/-.
5. Once payment is done, please note "SBcollect Reference Number" (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference.
6. If possible, digitally store the receipt of payment. This can be carried out in one of the following ways;
(i) by taking printout of receipt of payment, scan & save it
(ii) by taking screenshot of payment (if using mobile) or printscreen (if using computer)
(iii) by simply taking a photograph from mobile
7. No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self – declaration in the application form is sufficient.

(20) Course Contents
This course would enable the student to understand and apply the nuisances of the acting techniques on a script and effectively use voice and body to communicate the idea via behaviour
“ACTING IS TRUTHFULL BEHAVIOUR IN IMAGINARY CIRCUMSTANCES”
The design of this course takes root from the above definition and by using a combination of exercises from Sanford Meisner, Stanislavski, Less Strasberg, Stella Adler and Natyashastra Techniques would enable the student to understand the building blocks of a performance via constant practice of fundamental exercises and live scripts leading to enabling the participant to be confident in taking up auditions and actual screen acting assignments. A wholesome design of training the body, voice and craft apparatus would be undertaken in this course.
